American Breast Cancer Foundation – provides direct financial assistance to individuals for breast cancer screening and diagnostic tests and treatment support.

Cancer Care – Cancer patient information, chats, counseling, education, financial assistance.

Lance Armstrong Foundation – Support for cancer survivors and family.

National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship.

National Patient Travel Center – for financial assistance, transportation resources, indigent care, support and social services.

NeedyMeds – for financial assistance, indigent care and medications for people who cannot afford them. Usually patients cannot apply directly for these programs.  The inquirer should ask his/her doctor, nurse, or social worker to contact for them.

State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs – By early 2009, at least 42 states had established or authorized some type of program to provide pharmaceutical coverage or assistance, primarily to low-income elderly or persons with disabilities who do not quality for Medicaid.  For a listing of Prescription Drug Assistance Programs in the inquirer's state, call or visit the Medicare Web site. Inquirers also may ask their doctor or social worker about programs for which they may be eligible.
